Foreign diploma holders are often faced with the difficulty of re-establishing themselves as professional musicians in their home country after spending years studying in Switzerland. To facilitate this new start for them, it is a goal of the sponsoring association to organize a tour in their home country for graduates of the soloist classes within the financial possibilities.

The ZHdK Strings have been registered as a sponsoring association since 2011 and are thus a non-profit organization. They are closely connected to the ZHdK. Both the compensation of the conductor and a part of the other costs are covered by it. However, to realize extraordinary concerts or tours, the orchestra depends on additional support funds. For this purpose, it is planned to establish a circle of friends of the ZHdK Strings.
